Club Sportif Constantinois (Algeria) vs Vipers SC (Uganda)


It is confirmed that the reigning Uganda Premier League champions Vipers Sports Club will face Algerian outfit Club Sportif Constantinois during the double legged first round encounter in the CAF Champions League.

The Ugandan representatives outwitted Sudanese giants El Merriekh 1-0 during the return legof their preliminary round match played at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende onWednesday.

Former Masavu FC captain Abraham Ndugwa scored the lone strike in the 46th minuteof the well contested duel.

With that result, Vipers qualified with the away goal’s advantage since the aggregate score was 2 all after the two legs.

Algeria’s Club Sportif Constantinois eliminated Gamtel of The Gambia 2-0 on aggregate after two legs.

Now Vipers will travel for the first leg of their next two matches between 14th to 16th December 2018 in Algiers before the return leg a week later between 21-23 December (Fri-Sat-Sun) at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The winner on aggregate over the two legs will qualify for the prestigious group stages.

The winners of the last 32 stage for the CAF Champions league 2018/19 will be a total of 15 clubs that will join the CAF Champions league winner.

The draw for the CAF Champions league group stage will be held on 28th December 2018.
