Muzamiru Mutyaba and Mustafa Kizza celebrate in Dar es salaam. KCCA manager has singled out the team work element as the driving force for the club’s away win on the continental, a rare feat

In the aftermath of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Football Club’s 2-1 victory for the return leg of CAF Confederation cup over Mtiibwa Sugar at the Azam Sports Club in Dar es salaam, the former’s manager Mike Hillary Mutebi has showered praise unto the players for the job well executed.

Allan Okello’s late winner gave Mutebi the maximum points after Muzamiru Mutyaba had given them the lead on 28 minutes before
Salum Kihimbwa brought the game level on 52 minutes.

The 12 time Uganda Premier League champions smiled to a 5-1 aggregate victory over the two legs since the first leg in Kampala at the Star Times Stadium had ended 3-0.

Allan Kyambadde, Patrick Henry Kaddu and Allan Okello scored in the first leg.

This was KCCA’s first away win on the continental in a long while.

Mutebi shared his thoughts after the game and the young players fielded with the official club website;

All the players played well and they died a little for the badge. You would see determination from them and am happy for the display.
You would see they had hunger and were unfazed about the big stage. Teenager Sserwadda was fearlessly taking on opponents and defending when we lost possession. Ssenjobe and Achai were good too. They have picked a leaf from Okello who also was handed a debut at a similar stage against Mamelodi Sundowns away in South Africa in CAF Champions League.
