Wakiso Giants Football Club has wedged the axe unto midfielder-cum-forward Steven Bengo over indiscipline amplified through absenteeism from work.
Bengo has reportedly been missing from club duties for a period of two months since he put pen to paper consequently missing the intended matches in the lower tie division, FUFA Big League.
According to a communiqué released to the media by the club Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sula Kamoga, Bengo has not reported for duty for a period of two months without informing any of the club concerned authorities.
Wakiso Giants FC Statement on Steven Bengo
It has come to the notice of the club that you have absconded from duty without permission or approval from the club authorities for more than two months. This amounts to indiscipline, breach of contract and player code of conduct of the club. In our bid to maintain the club brand image and to reach the club’s mission and goals, such behaviours can never at any time be tolerated. In respect of the above, you (Bengo Steven) have been indefinitely suspended from the club and not expected to come any nearby the club premises, offices or training ground.

The letter was also copied to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA), FUFA Player status committee and the FUFA Competitions committee as well as to the Wakiso Giants players.
Kawowo Sports‘ efforts to get a comment from Bengo proved futile since he could not answer his known mobile phone number.
Bengo was signed alongside an array of other experienced players, many of whom had played in the top flight league for many years as Moses Ali Feni, Karim Ndugwa, Isaac Ntege, Hassan Wasswa Dazo, goalkeepers Cleo Ssetubba and Mansoor Mutumba, among others.
Ndugwa has since been loaned to top tier side Mbarara City Football Club for a year long epoch.
