DR Congo giants AS Vita have announced the capture of Ugandan defender Savio Kabugo.

The Ugandan international has signed a three year deal with the Caf Confederation Cup losing finalists after a brief stint at SC Villa.

“I thank the Almighty God for this great opportunity and everyone who has played a role in this move to happen,” Kabugo told a local website Sk13 Sports.

“I have not come here just for the sake but I have come here to write history with Vita because they are an African giant and Í believe I have got all what it takes to be here.

The big defender has previously played for Proline, URA and KCCA in Uganda before a spell at SC Villa at the start of the current season.

He becomes the second Ugandan to be signed by the club who are already into the group stages of the Caf Champions League after Yunus Sentamu.

He joins compatriot Joseph Ochaya in the DR Congo who features for TP Mazembe.
