Mbarara City won their sixth home game in seven with a 2-1 win over Bright Stars at Kakyeeka to climb to fourth on the log with 23 points.

Paul Mucureezi and Karim Ndugwa scored for the Ankole Lions while Augustine Kacancu netted for Bright Stars.

Mucureezi broke the deadlock in the 18th minute and the game ended 1-0 at half time.

Twenty minutes after the break, midfielder Kacancu drew the two sides level with a leveller for Fred Kajoba’s side who came into the game on the back of losses to Police and URA.

However, it took just five minutes for the hosts to restore their lead with Ndugwa scoring the winner.
