*All the monthly series will be at Entebbe Golf Club with different prize giving events and theme nights
*Grand finals will held in July 2019 with 12 top performers rewarded with air
*Professionals, too will be part of the tourney, just like last year
*Qualification round seeks to get 60 pairs
*Defending champions and three more are picks of the sponsors to make a total of 64 pairs (128 golfers for round one in February 2019)
*For every month, there will still be a car (Pajero Sport) to be competed for that lucky golfer with a hole in one shot on a given par three hole
There no lingering question across the divide in the Ugandan golfing family that the Singleton Golf series match play championship ranks among the most looked up events on the calendar alongside the Uganda Golf Open series.
For the third year in a row, the Singleton match play golf series championship is once again in the frey at the lake side Entebbe Golf Club.
This year’s event was launched at Nile Hall, Kampala Serena Hotel with all the sponsors and key partners addressing the media about the preparations to have a smooth championship across the seven months of competitive golf.
Edwin Tumusiime, the captain of Entebbe Golf Club lauded all the sponsors who have joined hands to make this championship a treasured one.
Speaking on behalf of the main sponsors, Annet Nakiyaga, the head of luxury fortfolio at Uganda Breweries Limited anticipates a much better event with monthly tournaments that will culminate into the grand finals where the winning pair will make it to the 2019 Desert Classic tournament in Dubai.
Nakiyaga indicated that unlike the previous tournaments whose winners were crowned at the 19th hole. This time round, the winners will be handled over their prizes at the 18th hole moments after putting in to the pin.
Thereafter, the thrills and excitement at the 19th hole will take over till the wee hours of the next morning.
Last year, Peace Kabasweke and Sheila Kensiime emerged as the winning pair whilst Herman Mutawe was best professional.
