KCCA are the first round champions after not only winning at URA but also ended the Tax Collectors unbeaten run.

Timothy Awany scored the winner at Namboole stadium in a game of two halves as the 12-time champions picked yet another vital run in their title hunt.

URA were the better side in the first half with Joachim Ojera threatening on the right but it was a different game in the second half.

The Kasasiro improved after the break and got the winner in the 56th minute through skipper Awany.

Though both teams had chances for goals, there was no more strikes as the game ended 1-0.

It put an end to a 17-match streak that Sam Ssimbwa’s men had gone with no defeat since losing 7-2 to KCCA at Lugogo in April.

KCCA are now on 36 points from 15 games while URA are sixth on the log with 21 points with one game in hand.
