Kenya national football team, Harambee Stars clinched the team of year (2018) accolade during the Soya awards held in the coastal town of Mombasa.

World marathon record holder, Eluid Kipchoge was named the overall sports personality of the year, beating Consenslus Kipruto, Elijah Manangoi, Kenya rugby sevens star William Lomu and Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi.

Kipchoge, also the UN best sportspersonality, scooped home the sportsman of the year award as well.

Beatrice Chepkoech was best sportswoman of the year.

Harambee Stars had a stellar year, qualifying for the 2019 African Cup of Nations to take the team of year.

Reigning Kenya Premier League champion Gor Mahia Football Club came second.

Dickson Onduari and Jane Ndenga were outstanding men and women best sportsmen living with a disability respectively.

Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) won the best federation of the year.
