Bashir Ansasira popularly known as Badu is seeking his second and final term as chairman of Uganda Cricket Association.
Badu has been at the helm of Uganda Cricket since 2017 and for the past two years he has overseen several changes in Uganda cricket.
In the 2017 elections, Badu defeated Tornado delegate Paul Nsibuka for the position of the Chairman. He had previously served as Vice Chairman on the board that was led by Richard Mwami.
In a brief chat we had with him he expressed his interest in the position
I am interested in running for a second term in order to finish what we have started. For the last two years we have made sure that we prepare UCA for take off and in my last two I seek to ensure that we can leave the association in a good place for those that will come after us. Therefore our mandate in next two years is to consolidate our gains while also leveraging on the relationships we have created.
Bashir Ansasira
There have been no confirmations on any other nominations and if there is none, Bashir will run unopposed to lead UCA for the next two years.
The elective AGM will take place on 26th Janury at the Copper Chimney in Lugogo.
Only the eight member clubs (Tornado, Wanderers, Nile, ACC, Premier, Tornado Bee, JACC and KICC) are allowed to vote at the AGM.
