Farouk Banga scored four minutes to the half time whistle as Bul jumped fourth of the 16-team Uganda Premier League log with a 1-0 win over Maroons.

The hosts who offered debuts to three new signings were superior over the visiting former league winners who needed goalie Emmanuel Akol to make a couple of brilliant saves.

The deadlock was however broken in the 41st minute when Banga scored the winning goal that offered Peter Onen side all three points.

Maroons, who were starting life minus George Best Nsimbe, stay 12th on the table with 15 points just three above the relegation zone.

Maroons next game will be at home against tricky Mbarara City on Tuesday February 5 while Bul visit Paidha Black Angels on the same day.
