Mbarara City and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) played to a goal-less stalemate in the Uganda Premier League at the Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara on Wednesday.

It was a game of missed scoring opportunities for the two sides.

Right from the opening half, both sides showed the intent to find the back of the net.

The Ankole Lions tested the visitors first through forward Jude Ssemugabi.

KCCA replied with half chances by the two Allan entities Kyambadde and Okello.

Kyambadde hit the right upper post in the 49th minute.

Swalik ‘Bebe’ Ssegujja replaced the industrious Ivan Eyam.

Five minutes later, KCCA called off an off colour Allan Okello for pacy winger Muwadda Mawejje.

Julius Poloto set up Kyambadde inside the goal area but the later fired wide of goal in yet another clear out goal scoring moment in the 69th minute.

Mbarara City technical bench led by Charles Livingstone Mbabazi made the first change of the game on the hour mark.

Swalik Ssegujja was introduced for the industrious Ivan Eyam.

Five minutes later, Allan Okello got rested for pacy winger Muwadda Mawejje.

Raymond Onyai was given his debut with 10 minutes to go, taking over Jude Ssemugabi’s slot.

Mbarara City goalkeeper Ali Kimera was cautioned by referee Ali Kaddu for handling the ball outside the goal area.

With eight minutes left on the clock, veteran Mike Mutyaba was rested for teenager Sadat Anaku.

Mbarara City’s man of the moment Ibrahim Orit had a chip from the left missed by South Sudanese forward Makwuth Wol.

Isaac Kirabira was the final change for KCCA, taking over Muzamiru Mutyaba’s place in the second minute of the three added.

For the draw, KCCA adds a point to 36 off 16 matches. Mbarara City improves to 29 points and they remain third.
