The Katabi Gombolola chief Sabaddu Edward Musooka has urged upon the subjects of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II to grace the third edition of the Katabi marathon, due to take place on Sunday 10th March 2019.

Musooka reasons that the Gombolola Sabaddu Katabi marathon has a genuine case of conserving nature and therefore the general public should be part of this noble cause.

I call upon all the subjects of Kabaka Mutebi II to come and register for the Gombolola Sabaddu Katabi marathon. Our main objective for this run is to help raise awareness about the importance of having a green environment. We intend to plant about 4000 tree species in Katabi, along the Banana village road in Nalugala.

The run which is being organized in conjunction with Katabi Town Council will be happening on 10th March 2019 under the theme ‘Go green, save our motherland’.

This will be the third time since inception in 2017 that this marathon is being organized with three different catergories (5KM, 10KM and 21KM).

In 2017 where the inaugural run was organized at Katabi headquarters, proceeds realized were channelled back towards community development.

During the subsequent edition, 1000 tree seedlings were planted in Mpala.

The mayor of Katabi Town Council, Ronald Kalema Bassamulakere is also another engaged party in the organization alongside the head of technical affairs Billy Ssebambulidde.

Besides raising funds, this marathon is also envisaged as a perfect plat form for the participants to break their hitherto busy and demanding work schdules to exercise as well as network.
