Schools Rugby heavyweights Namilyango College started off the 2019 season with a clean sweep of King’s College Budo in all age categories.

Tries from Peter Debuni, Jonathan Olupot and Ezekiel Opio gave the hosts a comfortable 15-06 lead in the U-19 category at the break and Frank Kakula added another in the second half that Gavin Mutara converted.

The Ngonians had already outdone the Budonians 19-00 and 10-05 in the U-17 and U-15 categroies respectively.

At the graveyard in Makerere, it was mixed results for the ties between Makerere College School (MACOS) and St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK).

In the U-19 category, two-time winners SMACK registered a convincing 27-00 win thanks to converted tries from man of the match Calvin Musoke, Nicholas Genza and Plan Akampurira.

Musoke also added a couple of penalties to hand last year’s finalists a rough start.

SMACK’s U17 side could not make the numbers with Makerere College earning a walkover while Edgar Marule was the star man as SMACK’s U-15s won 22-07.
