Sport has always been an integral part of the Kabaka’s birthday celebrations.

In 2017, the Kabaka Birthday Volleyball Festival was added to the list of annual sports events that are organised in commemoration of the King’s birthday.

The 3rd edition will be held April 5-7 at the KCCA grounds Lugogo with top clubs (men and women), primary schools, secondary schools expected to compete and corporates will be joining to add colour to the three-day event.

Sunrise Primary School, Matugga and Samaritan Primary School, Namugongo have dominated the schools during the past two editions.

Kinaawa High School, Mugongo has been untoucheable in the secondary schools’ girls category while Mbogo Mixed and Luyanzi College have split the boys’ category.

In the clubs category, VVC and Nkumba have split the women’s wing while Sky and Sport-S have shared the two editions.
