The 2018-19 FUFA Women Elite league resumes this weekend after a long break of about a month.

With just four games to the climax of the regular season, the race for the top two slots in Elizabeth group is still tight.

UCU Lady Cardinals and Olila High School lead the group on 21 points each but Kampala Queens (third on 18 points), Uganda Martyrs High School and Isra Soccer Academy all still stand a chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

The ultimate target for Kampala Queens as they take on Makerere University (She MAK) on Saturday will be to win and keep their hopes alive.

Coached by Faridah Bulega who is also the head coach of the Crested Cranes, Kampala Queens have a chance to draw level on points with UCU Lady Cardinals and Olila High School.

They welcome back a number of players from the national team who featured against Ethiopia last weekend.

These include; Lilian Mutuuzo, Zaina Namuleme, Aisha Namukisa and Resty Nanziri.

The last outing for Kampala Queens before the break ended on a disappointing note falling to Lady Doves 3-0 in the FUFA Women’s Cup.

Makerere University will hugely rely on striker Prossy Nabukeera who has been important to the team since joining them in January.

The other game on Saturday will see defending champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies visiting Muteesa I Royal University.

Kawempe already sealed their place in the playoffs in Victoria group and have conceded just one goal in ten games.
