Futsal Uganda Cup (Semifinals)

Yeak Kabowa’s ambitions of winning a double this were shuttered on Thursday night as they crushed out of the Futsal Uganda Cup.

With the league title seemingly in their hands, Yeak Kabowa coached by Ayub Balyejjusa were also competing in the inaugural edition of the knockout tournament.

However their dreams were ended on Thursday after falling to Crown in a closely contested encounter.

Despite coming from two goals down to have normal time in a two-all draw, Yeak Kabowa lost the penalty shootout 3-2.

Abdullahi Abdi and an own goal by Joel Musaasizi gave Crown the lead to the delight of the Somali community that came in big numbers to support their team.

Enock Ssebagala,top scorer both in the league and Uganda Cup netted a brace to force a penalty shootout including a stoppage time equalizer.

Crown however held on to win the penalty shootout 3-2 and reach the final.

In the other semifinal, league defending champions Dream overcame Bajim to also storm the final.

Normal time ended in a three all stalemate but Dream won 4-3 in penalties.

Dream got their goals through Moses Lubega, John Segawa Kintu and an own goal Franco Sunday.

On the other hand Ibrahim Kamya, Sunday Franco and Titus Ssematimba scored for Bajim.

The final is expected to be played on 9th May 2019 with the winner taking a cash prize of two million shillings.
