Egypt assistant coach Hany Ramzy says The Pharaohs are comfortable with their opponents in Group A of the 2019 Africa Nations Cup.

The record winners are grouped along with Uganda, Zimbabwe and two time winners DR Congo for the June 19 – 21 July edition.

“We are confident, we are here in our land with the supporters behind us, so we have to work hard to reach the final,” said the Egyptian legend as quoted by BBC Sport.

Egypt opens their account against the Warriors of Zimbabwe who are the lowest ranked nation in the group but Ramzy believes it will be a tough one.

“Whoever you play against, the opening game will be tough, but I think we can win the match,” he said before also acknowledging there is not much difference in quality anymore.

The big difference [in quality] between teams is not really there anymore, like it was 10 years ago in Africa. Now every team has players who play in Europe so they have the experience to play at a high level.

“But when you want to win a big tournament like the Africa Cup you have to win against small and big teams.”

Egypt lost at the finals at the last edition to Cameroon and haven’t lifted the trophy since 2010.
