Tooro United players celebrate previous success

Tooro United climbed to 5th place with the comprehensive 3-1 victory against Mbarara City at their foster home in Kavumba on Easter Eve.

Mahad Yaya Kakooza, Mike Kawooya and Baker Buyala were on target for Wasswa Bbosa’s side.

South Sudanese international Makuweth Wol got the consolation for the Ankole Lions who have been poor travelers in recent outings.

Kakooza poked home the opener past goalkeeper Muhammed Ssekebba as early as the fourth minute.

Wol equalized two minutes later to neutralize the game.

Defender Kawooya restored Tooro United’s lead two minutes after the half hour mark and Buyala buried the game in the home team’s favour with a strike 20 minutes to play.

This was Tooro United’s 11th win in 27 matches, driving them to 5th on the log, same points as Mbarara City who have a better goal difference.

Three Tooro United players were cautioned by the referee Richard Ochom.

Godfrey Lwesibawa, goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa and Kawooya were all booked for unsporting conduct.

The Ankole Lions’ defender Ronnie Kisekka was also booked.

Tooro United’s Kakooza was named the man of the match, earning a plaque and Shs 100,000 (cash).

This was Mbarara City’s 7th loss of the season, staying fourth with 42 points.

Match Day 28:

Match day 28 comes on on Tuesday, 23rd April 2019 and on the following day.

Tooro United visits Nyamityobora in one of the four games on Tuesday at Kakyeka Stadium.

The other game will witness KCCA, who need a draw to be declared champions taking on Ndejje University in Bombo.

Maroons plays host to the 16 time league champions SC Villa at the lake side Luzira Prisons stadium.

Meanwhile, Police will entertain the reigning league champions Vipers at Lugogo.

On Wednesday, 24th April 2019, there will be a couple of games as well.

Wounded Mbarara City visits Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) at Mandela National Stadium.

The West Nile derby will see rivals Paidha Black Angels host Onduparaka in Zombo.

Express will play-host to Kirinya-Jinja S.S and BUL will take on Bright Stars at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
