The 2019 National Basketball League could have just started but JKL Dolphins perfect start that has seen them post four wins in as many games can’t go unnoticed.
And perhaps their victory against Power on Sunday may have sent a signal to the rest of the teams that will be looking to clinch this season’s title.
Despite trailing in the opening three quarters, JKL Dolphins put up a resuscitated performance in the final quarter to eventually win the game 62-59.
Jude Ochen who was named player of the game believes sticking to their game plan paid off despite struggling in the opening stages of the game.
“I think we just had to stick to the plan. For the first three quarters, we weren’t playing according to what the coach was telling us then we realised it was not working until we decided and it eventually bailed us.”
According to Ochen, the plan as was to deny Power space in their area while on the other hand try to be as effective as possible.
He, therefore, thinks the manner in which they defended relentlessly especially in the final quarter guided them to victory.
“The defence was up there, we limited them in the fourth quarter and that helped us win.”
Ochen came off the bench to score a team-high 14 points in a comeback victory for Sam Obol coached side.
He further stated that working hard as a team will guide the team to success because it is the only way to achieve results.
“For any time, if you work right, you get the results. If we work hard, we will get the results.”
JKL Dolphins will return to action on 5th May against KIU Titans.
