The Gomes Zambia International rally received a major boost with the inclusion of more foreign drivers from Kenya.
Kabras Rally Team’s Onkar Rai, Tejveer Rai and Baldev Chager alongside Menengai racing team’s Carl Tundo and Eric Bengi confirmed their participation in the Zambia rally.
It will be the third round of Africa Rally Championship slated for 5-7 June in Ndola, Zambia.
“The postponement of rallies in Kenya has allowed us to plan for this. So we thought why not go to Zambia.
“We would like to enjoy ourselves in the rally,” said Kabras’ Onkar.
It will be Onkar’s first outing in Zambia. The Skoda Fabia driver is looking forward to the challenge.
“We have always wanted to do rallies outside Kenya time permitting but now we have a chance with the recent KNRC postponement.
“From what we have heard, Zambia is an amazing place to rally,” he added.
Carl Tundo was equally elated by his upcoming participation in Zambia.
“I really can’t wait to rally outside Kenya for a change. I am glad my sponsors Menengai Oil have given me this amazing opportunity,” says Tundo.
Manvir Baryan is the current defending winner of Zambia rally. He will line with his compatriots as they battle the local drivers for the win.
