As some teams fight to secure playoff slots, Asubo Gafford Ladies and Rines Women Football Club are still engulfed in the relegation mix with just two games to the end of the regular season of the 2018/19 FUFA Women Elite League.

The aforementioned two teams are in Victoria group and one of the two will join already relegated Dynamic SS Jjeza who have just two points in twelve games.

It should be noted that two teams are relegated from either group of Elizabeth and Victoria.

Elizabeth group relegation race is already decided with newcomers Lango Queens and Town View SS from Bugiri already confirming their fate.

The fight for survival, therefore, is still tight between Rines WFC and Asubo Gafford Ladies who have exchanged positions in the recent match days.

Currently, Kanyanya based Gafford Ladies FC is in the drop zone on eleven points, one behind Rines ahead of the penultimate games on Wednesday.

Rines will be at home to Muteesa I Royal University while Asubo Gafford Ladies make a trip to Muduuma in Mityana district to face bottom-placed Dynamic SS.

Fazil Cox, the Rines WFC head coach is aware of what is at stake and hopes his troops remain committed in the final bend of the season.

“The ball is in our coat and all we need is to win our remaining two games. I hope my players keep committed and focused.”

Majority of the Rines team is fresh from featuring at the just concluded Secondary School Games in Mbale which Cox believes is an advantage.

“I believe the players are in good shape because most of them have been active in Mbale. I’m confident this will give us edge against our opponents Muteesa I Royal University.”

Rines final league game will be at home against Dynamic SS while Asubo Gafford Ladies will travel to the Valley grounds to face Kawempe Muslim.
