With just two match days to the climax of the regular season of the 2018/19 FUFA Women Elite League, two slots for the championship playoff are still up for grabs.

Record champions Kawempe Muslim and new entrants Lady Doves both from Victoria group already confirmed their berth but the contention is still tight in Elizabeth group.

Kampala Queens, Uganda Martyrs High School, Olila High School, and UCU Lady Cardinals all have a chance to finish in the top two positions.

Ahead of the penultimate matchday of the regular season, the ultimate target for each of the aforementioned teams will be to win and brighten their chances.

Kampala Queens make a short trip to Lubaga to face Uganda Martyrs High School in a game that is crucial for either side.

The school side captain Shadia Nankya is aware of the importance of the game and indicates the team is ready for the task ahead.

“It is a tough game for both teams and we are fully aware that to stand any chance, we must win. The players are in good shape and ready for the game,” she said.

Kampala Queens come into this game in high spirits after overcoming rivals UCU Lady Cardinals ten days ago to move joint top on 24 points same as the latter and Olila High School

Uganda Martyrs High School are two points below the joint leaders just like Isra Soccer Academy who have one game to play.

Faridah Bulega, the Crested Cranes coach who also manages Kampala Queens hopes her charges can raise to the occasion and help the team.

“As a coach, I do my job of organizing the team and the rest of the task is up-to-the players. I have the belief in my players and I know they will raise to the occasion.”

Uganda Martyrs won the reverse fixture 4-1 at Old Kampala Primary School.

Elsewhere, wounded UCU Lady Cardinals will hope for resuscitation against Makerere University who are neither playing for the championship nor fighting relegation.
