Division 2 T20 winners Ceylon Lions get their 50 over campaign under way with a tricky game against Wanderers at Budo on Sunday.

Ceylon Lions dropped from Division 1 last season and will be seeking an immediate return to the top flight.

The team threw off some dead weight in preparation for the Division 2 challenge bringing in some young players such as Robinson Obuya, Simon Oketcho, Marvin Kitamirike plus Kenyan international Alex Obanda to ensure they have a successful Division 2 campaign.

Their opponents Wanderers had a spring in their step with three wins till they ran into Aziz Damani Development side last weekend. A batting collapse let down Wanderers and they will be looking for an improved performance this weekend.

Wanderers will be without team captain Denis Musali due to family commitments. Zubair Tembo is also out with a groin injury but should have batsman Adonia Waibale and bowler Peter Tusiime available for selection.

In the Divison 2 game, both Premier and Damani make the trip to Jinja as both sides seek wins to keep their promotion campaigns on track.

Damani stopped Wanderers from running away with a 1-wicket win last weekend while Premier will need to get back to winning ways as their last outing was a five-wicket loss to Wanderers.

If the weather allows the two games will be interesting in terms of how the table shapes up towards the end of the first round.
