After winning the Division 1 T20 title last weekend, Aziz Damani will start the defence of their 50 over crown this weekend in Entebbe against Patidar.

Damani will be chasing a third straight title after winning the title for the last two seasons.

Their opponents Patidar made the semifinals of the T20 and will be no pushovers at the lakeside oval.

The Division 2 winners have added more steel to their team to be able to compete with the big boys. Ankit Patel, the captain, joined them from Kutchi Tigers together with some the exciting youngsters Derrick Bakunzi, Cosmas Kyewuta, Collins Okwalinga and Ronald Opio. If the youngsters are motivated by the occasion they will surely give the defending champions a run for their money.

Damani won their second title without Roger Mukasa and his addition to the team this season should make them even a better side. Some of the national team players in Damani will be using this as a chance to put their hands up for selection such as Brian Masaba, Emmanuel Isaneez and Henry Ssenyondo. Youngster Kenneth Waiswa who missed the Africa qualifiers through injury should be back in the side.

In the other Division One game, last season runners up Kutchi Tigers take on KICC at Kyambogo.

Kutchi Tigers are far from the side that pushed Damani till the end as their key players from the last two dominant seasons Dinesh Nakrani and Ronak Patel are missing.

KICC has reinforced their team with U19 skipper Frank Akankwasa, Lawrence Sempiija, Simon Ssesazi and Lawrence Ssematimba which makes them a title contender this year.

Alpesh Hirani and his Kutchi Tigers troops will need to work hard to stop Hanumant Katkar and his well-oiled machine.
