• UCU Canons 58-80 Power

Going into the Friday night matchup against league leaders UCU Canons, Power’s assistant coach Boniface Okello said the game would be about execution on both ends of the floor.

He demanded excellent defence from his charges if they were to have a chance against the youthful and athletic Canons.

His charges responded by blowing out UCU 80-58 at Lugogo Indoor Stadium thanks to Geoffrey Soro’s season-high 27 points that came along with 11 boards.

While the opening quarter was a close contest, Power had a four-point lead (19-15) at the end of the period.

Fadhili Chuma opened the second for canons with a mid-range but Power responded with a 6-0 run and the lead started to expand as Canons went through a scoring drought.

At the long break, the Canons were down by 14 and after the third quarter, the deficit was up to 22 and all was nothing but done.

Libe Makala (16 points), Sam Agutu (12 points) came in handy for Power off the bench while Syrus Kiviiri who primarily directed offence on the night scored 11 points and handed out 5 assists.

Isaiah Ater scored team-high 16 points on a night to forget for Canons. Chuma added 10 points and picked game-high 12 rebounds.
