Yeak Kabowa were officially crowned champions of the 2018-19 Futsal Super League at a ceremony held on Thursday night at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The new champions secured the ultimate prize a fortnight ago when they defeated Aidenal 3-1 but even went ahead to win their final game against Mengo City to end the season on a high.

In an eleven goal thriller, Yeak Kabowa edged Mengo City to win 6-5 before getting their hands onto the coveted trophy.

Lethal forward Shafik Avemah ended the season in style bagging a hat trick to take his goal tally to 43 and eventually emerge the top scorer.

His partner in crime Enock Ssebagala who was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) scored a brace before John Musasizi added the other for the champions.

Mengo City scored through Jummah Lutakome (brace), Najib Muwonge, Ismael Makanga and Swalley Kaboyo.

The victory meant Yeak Kabowa ended the season on 66 points. On top of the trophy and medals, the league champions walked away with a cash prize of three million shillings.

Out of the 26 games played, Yeak Kabowa won 21, drew on three occasions and lost only twice scoring 132 goals while conceded 65 in the run to become champions.

This was the second season of the Futsal Super League. Dream won the inaugural edition last year.
