Futsal Uganda Cup final
Dream 4-2 Crown
Dream Futsal Club encrypted their name as the first winner of the Futsal Uganda Cup after defeating Crown in the final on Thursday night at Lugogo.
Like they did a year ago to become the champions of the inaugural Futsal Super League, Dream went ahead to achieve another milestone by winning the inaugural edition of the Futsal Uganda Cup, a tournament played on a knockout format.
In the final played inside Lugogo Indoor Arena, Dream brushed aside Crown winning the game 4-2.
Swaib Kazibwe bagged a brace to orchestrate the damage against Crown before his teammates Moses Lubega and John Kintu Ssegawa added a goal apiece.
Crown scored through Islam Ssemakula and Abdfatah Ahmed Muhamoud in a losing effort.
Umar Muyingo of Dream was named the Most Valuable Player while Enock Ssebagala of Yeak Kabowa emerged top scorer with seven goals.
Dream received a cash prize of two million shillings courtesy of Ssaka Hauliers.
To reach the final, Dream eliminated Bajim in the semifinals 4-3 on penalties after normal time had ended in a three all draw.
On the other hand, Crown stunned favourites Yeak Kabowa winning 3-2 on penalties following a two-all draw in normal time.
