The 2019 National Basketball League playoffs tip-off on Friday evening at Lugogo Indoor Stadium with Nkumba Lady Marines taking on A1 Challenge in the women’s division and later Warriors battle KIU Titans.
And on Thursday morning, the Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) unveiled UAP Old Mutual Financial Services as the new partners for the upcoming playoffs.
“We have want to have these partners on board to grow the game of basketball,” Nasser Sserunjogi, the FUBA President said at the presser.
UAP come on board with fifteen million shillings that will be channeled to the player of the match award that was introduced this season. Each player of the game in the postseason will take home Shs100,000.
Simon Mwebaze of UAP noted that basketball is one of the fastest-growing sport and will be hoping to be part of the growth.
City Oilers and JKL Lady Dolphins are the defending champions.
