Impis RFC have released their 40-man squad for the 2021 rugby season, with an honorary place for Graham Mubanda.

Graham Mubanda was killed in an attack by thieves in Makerere suburb Kikoni on Thursday night. He was among the 10 new signings the club had acquired for the season.

Signings: Brian Kizito and Waya Edmond have been acquired from rivals and fellow Makerere side Rams while Gilbert Deng Ring and Ayebare Godfrey were not attached to any club.

Stallone Arinaitwe from Buffaloes and free agents Emmanuel Ogwal and Joel Ddembe have returned to the club where they started their open age careers.

Rookies Samuel Mukelele and Masete Ishak have been handed their first shot at top tier rugby.

Emmanuel Katuntu has assumed duties as full head coach after serving as part-player part-coach during last season. He has set a target to not finish bottom of the log like was the outcome of the 2019/20 season.

“The realistic target for the season is not to finish bottom of the log and to have a positive points difference,” Katuntu said.

Impis will kick off their second top flight campaign with a home game against Mongers in the opening matchday at 4pm.
