Henry Kitegenyi scored against his former bosses as Mbarara City beat champions Vipers to put an end to their unbeaten start to the season.

The former Vipers forward scored the winner six minutes after recess and the hosts held on for three points.

Without suspended left back Disan Galiwango, Kajoba went with skipper Halid Lwaliwa playing on the left side of defence with Bashir Asiku, Paul Willa and Joseph Dhata completing the back four.

Following a goalless first half, Kitegenyi broke the deadlock with a neat finish after getting ahead of Asiku to loop the ball past Bashir Sekagya.

Not even the introduction of Lawrence Tezikya, Allan Kayiwa and Jamil Karisa could change the tide of the game as Mbarara City earned their first ever win over the Venoms.

Vipers surrender top spot to Express FC who beat Busoga United 1-0 after match day 12 while Mbarara City move to 11th with 13 points.
