FUFA Big League 2021 (Elgon Group): Saturday, 27th March 2021 Results:
- Arua Hill 3-0 Mbale Kataka
- Calvary 0-1 Blacks Power
Arua Hill Sports Club ascended to the summit of the FUFA Big League in the Elgon group with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Mbale Kataka at the Barifa play-ground, Arua city on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
Skipper Ceaser Okhuti, Allan Mugalu and Alfred Leku were all on target for Arua Hill.
Okhuti gave Hussein Mbalangu’s coached side the lead off Rashid Agau’s well executed corner kick delivery on the stroke of half time to a slim 1-0 lead heading to the mandatory recess.
Mugalu doubled the lead in the 65th minute following Dan Birikwalira’s corner kick.
Second half substitute Alfred Leku then applied the icing on the cake by Leku with 5 minutes to play.
This was the second straight victory for Arua Hill after their opening 3-1 win over Bukedea based Blacks Power last Thursday at the same venue.
This win means that Arua Hill who rebranded from Doves All Stars has now accumulated 6 points from the two games, scored 6 goals and conceded once.
Mbale Kataka fell in their second game during the West Nile expedition having lost 1-0 to newly promoted Calvary on Thursday.
Arua Hill head coach Hussein Mbalangu described the match as a difficult one even though they had scored three goals in 90 minutes.
“It has not been easy because the opponents have been too physical, they use a lot of energy, too much running and too much body contact” Mbalangu disclosed as quoted by the club’s official website.
Meanwhile, Black Power got off the hook with a 1-0 win over Calvary in Saturday’s second game at the AbaBet Green Light Stadium, Arua.
James Okiror scored Blacks Power’s only goal courtesy of a decent assist from stylish Nigerian Innocent Maduka.
Arua Hill will play their first away game of the season this Thursday, 1st April 2021 against Maroons at the Prisons Stadium in Luzira.
On the same day, Blacks Power will entertain Paidha Black Angels at the Emokori grounds in Bukedea.
Calvary visits Mbale Heroes at the re-greened Mbale Municipal Stadium this coming Wednesday,31st March 2021.
Meanwhile, Kataka Football Club will host Gadaffi FC in their next game at Mbale Municipal Stadium.
Three clubs will be promoted to the 2021-22 Uganda Premier League. Two clubs are promoted directly from the two groups (Elgon and Rwenzori).
The third club is determined via a promotional play-off.
