  • Sudan 2-0 South Africa

Sudan qualified for the Total Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2012 after beating South Africa 2-0 at the Al Hilal stadium in Khartoum.

Saifeldin Maki and Mohamed Abdel Rahman scored for the Falcons of Jeddah to overtake Bafana Bafana in second behind Ghana in Group C.

The hosts came into the game seeking victory while the 1996 champions needed just a draw to reach Cameroon 2021 and it was Sudan that got the results they needed.

The victory takes Sudan to 12 points, two ahead of third placed South Africa who reached the quarter finals at the last edition.

Elsewhere, Tanzania beat Libya 1-0 thanks to Simon Msuva goal but it was too little too late to qualify.

In other games played on the day, Tunisia beat Equatorial Guinea 2-1, Ghana won 3-1 against Sao Tome Principe while Namibia won 2-1 versus Guinea.
