Katwe United Football Club president Hon. Allan Aloysius Ssewanyana is a gentleman who holds various coats in the jurisdiction of his work tasks at hand.
He is a politician in the main stream politicking as Member of Parliament (MP) for Makindye West constituency in the August House, a shadow minister of sports in the opposition government as well as a football administrator as a director of a third tier football club, Katwe United F.C and a shrewd businessman.
On Monday, April 12, 2021 during a press conference at his Makindye based head offices, Ssewanyana publicly declared the bold intentions to stand for the presidency of Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) office for the tenure 2021 to 2025.

The National Unity Platform (NUP) leaning politician was flanked by Shafik Lubega (Deputy president Katwe United Football Club) and his personal lawyer Allan Mulindwa.
He thus used the platform to officially declare his candidature after having failed in the same bid during the last time of elections in 2017.
I want to publicly announce that I will be standing for the presidency of FUFA in the coming elections come August 2021. My agenda is “Football First” I will first weigh everything to realize if it is for football, then take it on. I have a capable team of leaders behind me, active and retired footballers, sponsors who are behind me. On a suitable date, I will present my full agenda and manifesto, clearly outing what I will do and how as FUFA President.
Hon. Allan Aliosuos Ssewanyana, Katwe United FC Chairperson

On balancing his work as FUFA president and parliamentary duties, Ssewanyana disclosed that his back as a human resource graduate from Makerere University suits him in the managerial role.
“I can easily balance the work tasks as FUFA president and member of parliament. First, It is all about management. FUFA is about polices and systems in place. I am also advantaged that my constituency (Makindye West) is not so far away from the FUFA House and Parliament of Uganda. I am experienced having played football at Top TV Football Club in the top tier division, was a board member at KCCA Football Club, winning three trophies, a member on league board that brought sanity to the super league and team manager at Nsenene clan in the Bika Bya Baganda football competition.” he added.

Throughout the well-attended press conference, Ssewanyana attacked the person of the incumbent FUFA President Moses Magogo who has already expressed the urge to seek re-election as FUFA boss for the third straight term in office.
“Fine, Magogo has done some work since 2013 but administratively, he is the worst FUFA president. He entered into a plea bargain with FIFA over re-sale of the World Cup tickets. This alone shows he is incompetent. He should have resigned long ago or should not seek for re-election when his term of office expires. My club Katwe United would be now competing for the Uganda Premier League trophy but it was frustrated. A former player Mike Sulaiman Mutyaba was beaten at FUFA House for protesting unpayment of players’ allowances and he was beaten to near death. This should not happen.” Ssewanyana stated.

Ssewanyana joins the swelling list of persons who wish to unseat Magogo.
Proline Football Club director Mujib Kasule, another legislator (MP Anyivu county) Hon. Bernard Atiku and former URA FC chairman Ali Ssekatawa (now at Nyamityobora FC) have all openly expressed the urge to stand for FUFA presidency.
The FUFA Electoral process that will culminate into the election of the FUFA President in August 2021 has already started with the grassroot election of district delegates across the entire country in all the 8 regions of FUFA (Northern, Kitara, North East, Western, West Nile, Eastern, Buganda and Kampala).
This coming weekend, the regional football associations elections will be held across the country.
