There were ulgy and embarrassing scenes during the Mbale Heroes 1-all draw with Arua Hill at the Mbale Municipal Stadium in Mbale city on Thursday, April 15, 2021.

Fans stormed the playing field and there was a forced stopped of the game for about 10 minutes towards the climax of this Elgon group encounter.

The angry fans bitterly protested skipper Ceaser Okhuti’s equalizer in the 71st minute.

Okhuti was well positioned to head past goalkeeper Hilbert Hatimu off a curling free-kick by veteran midfielder Paddy Muhumuza.

The goal stood as referee Richard Kimbowa stood firm to count the equalizer.

After about 10 minutes, the situation was calmed down and play resumed.

Mbale Heroes had scored the opener through roving right Ibrahim Kibumba after 20 minutes.

The former Sports Club Villa and Police defender scored a penalty past goalkeeper Richard Anyama following a handball call.

This was the second draw for Arua Hill on the road, following an earlier one against Maroons (0-0) at the Prisons stadium in Luzira.

Other Results:

Maroons lost their first game, falling to newly promoted Calvary 2-1 in Arua city.

Gaddafi overcame Blacks Power 3-2 at the Kyabazinga stadium, Jinja city.

In the Rwenzori group, Luwero United edged Kigezi Home Boyz 2-1 at the Kosovo Arena in Luwero.

Tooro United smiled over visiting Terrazo and Tiles at the Buhinga stadium in Fort Portal city.

At the Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara City, Nyamityobora beat visiting Proline 2-0 while the tie between Ndejje University and  Water at the Arena of Visions ended in favour of Ndejje University 2-0.

Three clubs shall be promoted to the Uganda Premier League by the end of the season.
