Police FC coach Abdallah Mubiru heaped praise on striker Derrick Kakooza after he bagged brace in the 3-0 win over UPDF at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

The forward opened the scoring with a poacher’s goal getting at the end of a back pass from defender Denis Ssekitoleko and added another with a header in the second half.

“Derrick is improving every single day,” stated Mubiru. “His character is positive, he uses his body well and his touches are improving as well,” he added.

“The goals he has scored today are typical number 9 goals. They were very hard for an ordinary player to convert but he managed to do so being in the right position at the right time.”

Mubiru who promoted the lad from the team’s Junior side however admits the coaches continue to nurture the player who still things to learn.

“We just have to keep on nurturing him and tell him to keep focused.”

Kakooza thanked the coach for the trust and his teammates revealing it’s not easy to score a brace in such a tough game.

“I thank God, the team mates and technical staff,” he said before revealing what Mubiru told him.

“He told me I believe in you and encouraged me to enjoy my game and score at least a goal which I did.”
