Elgon Group:

Gaddafi Football Club ascended to the third position on the Elgon group of the 2021 FUFA Big League after match day 5.

James Otim scored the lone strike on the evening as the Soldierz Boyz, as the club is christened overcame Paidha Black Angels 1-0 at the Bar Okoro Stadium in the West Nile region district of Zombo on Sunday, April 18, 2021.

Otim’s goal came inside the opening half and it necessitated solid defending to win the maximum points.

This was the second goal for Otim, a former player at Busoga United and BUL Football Clubs after his opening goal last week against Blacks Power.

This was the third victory for Gaddafi in five matches as they jumped to third on the 8 team log with 9 points.

Paidha Black Angels remains win-less as they have only acquired one point and remain bottom placed.

Meanwhile, Elgon group table leaders Arua Hill beat newly promoted Calvary 1-0 at the Barifa Stadium during the all West Nile affair.

Arua Hill now has 11 points, 2 ahead of Kataka who edged Blacks Power at the Emokori play ground in Bukedea.

Mbale Heroes secured their first win of the season in fashion, away from home after winning Maroons 1-0 at the Prisons stadium in Luzira.

Rwenzori Group:

Tooro United maintains the summit position of Rwenzori group with a resounding 3-1 home win over visiting Ndejje University at Buhinga stadium, Fort Portal.

Abdul Karim Kasule struck a brace and Marvin Oshaba added the other. Vincent Abigaba got the consolation for Ndejje University.

Edward Golola’s side now has 12 points, three ahead of second placed Proline.

Proline had defeated league debutants Luwero United 1-0 on Saturday, 17th April 2021 at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Kigezi Home Boyz’s first win came at home, 2-1 against Nyamityobora at the Kabale Municipal Stadium.

Norman Namanya and Dickson Niwamanya Kihanga scored for Kigezi Home Boyz to cancel Clinton Kamugisha’s opener.

Kigezi Home Boyz ended the game with 10 men after Robert Santos Baluku’s red card in the 58th minute.

At Kavumba Recreational stadium, Water smiled 2-1 over newcomers Terrazo and Tiles from Western Uganda in Mbarara city.

Match Day 6:

Eight matches will be played on match day 6 next week on Wednesday, 21st April 2021 and on the subsequent day.

Kataka entertains Maroons at the Mbale Municipal Stadium on Wednesday before Nyamityobora will entertain Water at Kakyeka Stadium.

On Thursday, 22nd April 2021, Arua Hill plays Gaddafi in Arua city, Calvary shall entertain Paidha Black Angels at the Aba Bet Green Light stadium, Mbale Heroes host Blacks Power at the Mbale Municipal Stadium.

Luwero United will host Tooro United at the Kosovo ground, Kasaana in Luwero and Proline takes on Ndejje University at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Three clubs will be promoted to the 2021-22 Uganda Premier League.

Of these  three, two earn direct berths from each of the groups (Rwenzori and Elgon).

The third club is determined via a promotional play-off. For the first time since the FUFA Big League inception, a game in every match day is televised live.
