Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club extended their lead on top of the UPL standings to four points after a 2-0 home win against Mbarara City at the Arena of Visions on Tuesday, 27 April 2021.

A goal in each half from Brian Majwega (penalty) and captain Shafik Kagimu won maximum points for Sam Ssimbwa’s coached side.

Majwega opened the scores with a well struck penalty on 10 minutes following a foul in the area on Joackim Ojera by defender Ibrahim Magandaazi.

John Adriko was cautioned for a foul on Ojera inside the goal area after 13 minutes.

Moses Sseruyidde’s resultant free-kick flew narrowly across of goal.

On the quarter hour mark, Steven Othieno was introduced for Adriko in an early change.

Ojera tested goalkeeper Martin Elungat with a distant shot well saved.

Solomon Okwalinga recorded a direct shot on target from 20 yards as the opening stanza ended 1-0 in favour of the tax collectors.

Upon resumption for the second half, Mbarara City got the opportunity towards goal, midfielder Swalik Bebe Ssegujja.

Ssegujja paved way for striker Bashir Mutanda as the visitors made their first change in the 55th minute.

Moments later, URA introduced midfielder Ivan Sserubiri for winger Michael Birungi.

On the hour mark, Kagimu doubled the lead with a well taken goal past Elungat inside the goal area.

Mutanda had an acrobatic volley fly wide of goal as the Ankole Lions pushed forward for an equalizer.

Inside the final quarter of the game, Mbarara City made a double change.

Derrick Onyai and Ivan Eyam were replaced for Jude Ssemugabi and former Vipers player Innocent Wafula respectively.

Mikidadi Ssenyonga replaced Ojera on 83 minutes in URA’s other change.

Dada hit the lower post as URA pushed numbers forward for a killer in the closing minutes, 2-0 it ended in Luwero.

The victory shot URA to 57 points, four points better of second placed Vipers who travelled to Tororo to face MYDA on Wednesday.

Consequently, Mbarara fell to their 8th loss in 21 matches as they remain on 25 points in the 9th position.

Meanwhile, Kitara recorded their second win of the season after a 4-2 home win over visiting Kyetume at the Masindi Municipal Stadium.

Nathan Oloro scored all the four goals for Kitara.

At the Bombo Military stadium, SC Villa rallied from a goal down to pick a precious point off BUL with a 1-all draw in Bombo.

Busoga United and UPDF settled for a point apiece in the score-less draw at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
