On two occasions, midfielder Joshua “Letti” Lubwama confidently stood up to convert from 12 yards as Wakiso Giants downed visiting Police at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.

This was match day 21 of the Star Times Uganda Premier League as the two sides faced off for the return leg.

Viane Ssekajugo had Wakiso Giants’ other goal and Herman Wasswa Nteza picked the consolation for Police.

The first of Lubwama’s penalties came on 18 minutes after a foul by left back Eric Ssenjobe on Ssekajugo, returning after serving a four match suspension slapped onto him by FUFA for misconduct.

Lubwama opened a 2-0 lead for the hosts, thanks to another penalty in the 51st minute.

Ssekajugo made it 3 with a great tap-in off a decent cross from Fahad Kawooya on th hour mark.

Wasswa pulled back a goal with 18 minutes to play, tapping home past goalkeeper Samson Kirya.

Police had two goals disallowed by referee George Nkurunziza for different off-side calls, something that led to protests from Police players.

Off 21 games, Police has collected 37 points, remaining 5th on the 16 team log.

Wakiso Giants attained only their fourth victory of the season and improve to 23 points though on the fringes of the relegation red line.

Meanwhile, Vipers humbled MYDA 4-0 away at the King George IV Memorial Stadium in Tororo.

Yunus Sentamu scored twice with Karim Watambala and David Bagoole scoring the others.

Express out-witted Onduparaka 2-0 at the Betway Mutesa II Wankulukuku stadium, courtesy of Eric Kenzo Kambale’s late brace.
