CECAFA U-23 Challenge Cup 2021: (July 18-31) – Bahir Dar, Ethiopia:

Uganda Kobs (U-23) head coach Morley Byekwaso named the country’s final 23 man squad for the 2021 CECAFA U-23 challenge cup tournament in Ethiopia, Bahir Dar city.

Sports Club Villa defender Gavin Kizito Mugweri returns to the traveling contingent having missed out the two international build up matches in Saudi Arabia.

His club mate, goalkeeper Saidi Keni also returns to the list at the expense of UPDF’s Eric Kibowa.

The two players (Kizito and Keni) had returned positive COVID-19 results moments before the team entered camp for the Saudi Arabia build matches.

Express’ winning captain Enock Walusimbi retains the captain’s arm band. KCCA goalkeeper and captain Charles Lukwago is Walusimbi’s first deputy as Kizito is the second captain.

The team flies out to Ethiopia today (Wednesday, 14th July 2021) at 3pm aboard Ethiopian Airways.
