CECAFA Kagame Cup 2021:
1st – 15th August – Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Uganda will be represented by two clubs at the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup tournament in Tanzania.
Newly crowned Uganda Premier League winners Express will be joined by the tournament defending champions Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).
This followed a communique to Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) from the CECAFA secretariat.
“FUFA has received communication from CECAFA about the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup to be hosted in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Uganda will be represented by StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Express FC and Kagame Cup holders KCCA FC” FUFA confirmed in a statement.
The tournament will have 8 clubs as Atlabara Juba (South Sudan), Yanga (Tanzania), Azam (Tanzania), Le Messager Ngozi (Burundi), APR (Rwanda), Tusker (Kenya) and Uganda’s duo of KCCA and Express.
The draw for the tourney will be conducted on Tuesday, 27th July 2021 and there will be two pools with four club in each group.
The championship kicks off on 1st August and will last for a fortnight.

We shall be waiting to support them here in Dar es Salaam.I hope the clubs don’t let us down.Why isn’t Simba participating yet they have been champions for four consecutive years in the local league.Is CECAFA club championship a coalition of the willing now? What is happening with clubs from Zanzibar,Eritrea,Djibouti,Somalia,Ethiopia,Sudan? Atleast invite clubs from the carribean as guest clubs.
Idnt think is the best way for simba to isolate from tournament as they believe they champions club they should use this opportunity as pre match of their new season 2021/2022
