Muwadda Kateregga (middle)

Muwadda Ramathan Kateregga and Wakiso Giants FC have parted ways after three years of service.

The right back is among the club’s pioneer players since the club rebranded from Kamuli Park and was pivotal as the Purple Sharks gained promotion to the top division in 2019.

“Muwadda Ramathan Kateregga has ended his stay with Wakiso Giants after three years of service,” the club confirmed on its website.

“The right back joined us in 2018 and was pivotal in helping the club gain promotion in the 2018/19 season.

“Over three seasons (2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21) Muwadda featured in 46 games across all competitions scoring one goal and making three assists from his defensive position.

“Everyone at the club would like to thank Muwadda for his many seasons of service and to wish him well for the future.”

Kateregga joined the Purple Sharks from SC Villa and was a regular until last season when his position was taken over by Geriga Atendele.

He has previously played for record league champions SC Villa.

The defender becomes the second player to leave the Douglas Bamweyana coached side after Yasin Mugume whose contract wasn’t renewed at the end of last season.
