The 2021-2022 Uganda Cup Round of 64 kicked off with three matches played on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
In one of the shocks, Kitara regional side Rusekere Growers eliminated FUFA Big League (2nd Division) club Kataka 1-0 at the Rusekere Playground in Kabomu, Kabalore district.
Rocky Ayebale scored the all-important goal for the home team as they progressed to the round of 32.
In other matches, Gaddafi, a top-tier club in the Uganda Premier League needed a 5-3 post-match penalty victory to eject Heros out of the tournament.
Normal time at the Akii Bua stadium in Lira city had ended goal-less under heavy rains.
Bakari Magunda, Andrew Waiswa, Umaru Kyeyune, Frank Milimi, and Naziru Serwadda were all on target for Gadaffi in the tense shoot-out.
Masindi-based Regional League (3rd Division) club Booma humiliated second-tier Nyamityobora 4-1 at the Masindi stadium.
Clinton Assiimwe netted a hat-trick and Chris Isingoma added the other.
At the Christ King playground – Nyahuka in Bundibungyo district, the home side Bundimasoli was a no show against Jinja-based top-flight side, BUL.
