Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club progressed to the round of 32 in the 2021-2022 Stanbic Uganda Cup after a comprehensive 4-0 win over regional side Total at the Geya Primary School playground, Yumbe.
A brace from Ibrahim Juma Dada as well as a goal apiece from Viane Ssekajugo and captain Shafik Kuchi Kagimu inspired the tax collectors to a memorable victory.
Ssekajugo broke the resilience of the West Nile based club in the 42nd minute with the opener.
Two minutes later Dada made it two as the visitors led 2-0 by the half way break.
Seven minutes into the final stanza, Dada turned provider for his captain for the third goal.
Kagimu also handsomely paid back as he set up Dada who had his brace on 65 minutes with victory all painted on the wall for URA.
Goalkeeper James Alitho was introduced late in the game for Dada.
Alitho nearly scored the fifth goal but his powerful header sailed out.
URA makes the grade to the round of 32 where they are assured of at least Shs. 2,000,000.
Meanwhile, at the Kalongo Technical Institute ground in Agago District, Kalongo United smiled 1-0 over Adjumani Town Council.
The winner of the Uganda Cup earns the ticket to play at the CAF Confederation Cup.
Vipers are the reigning champions after humiliating BUL 8-2 in last season’s final played at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
Meanwhile, the round of 64 continues on Sunday, 23rd January 2022 with three matches.
KCCA is away to Busia United in the border town of Busia.
In West Nile, Onduparaka makes the short trip to Paidha United at the Bar Okoro in Zombo district.
