The result might not tell the whole story of the match but what is important is that Uganda was able to pick up its win at the U-19 World Cup in West Indies.
The baby cricket cranes won the toss and elected to bat 1st but failed to apply themselves losing wicket in regular intervals with only Cyrus Kakuru (65) ensured that Uganda puts on a respectable 123 inside only 28 overs.
In the chase, Uganda was on the attack immediately putting pressure on the PNG batting line up as they struggled to chase down the small total. Juma Miyagi (4/29) was the leader of the attack and he got good back up from Joseph Baguma (3/30) and Matthew Musinguzi (2/29) as PNG was skittled out for only 88.
The win is the first for Uganda in this edition of the World Cup but the third win for Uganda at the U-19 World Cup with two wins coming from the previous editions.
The win also means that Uganda wont finish either second last or last as they will battle Scotland in the 13th-place playoff final.
