Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Football Club has processed the return of their former player Robert Omunuk.
Omunuk started his career at the same club under the brand name, Simba way back in 2010.
He then left for the semi-professional murky waters in the Kenya Premier League, featuring for Tusker (two stints), Ushuru, Sony Sugar and Nakumatt.
The left back-cum-winger returned to Uganda in 2018 and was signed by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club before returning to Kenya.
He has also played at the CAF Champions League with 180 minutes’ game time after playing two matches.
Omunuk’s vast experience is expected to bolster the army side as the second round of the 2021-2022 StarTimes Uganda Premier League comes knocking as UPDF seeks to improve their current position on the table standing.
The army funded side is 9th on the 16 team log with 19 points from the 15 matches played of the first round.
Meanwhile, Brian Ssenyondo’s side has also boosted their midfield with Andrew “Sergent” Kawooya on loan from Kampala Capital City Authority until the end of the season.
Recently, UPDF overcame North East regional side Soroti 3-0 during the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64 at the Soroti Stadium.
