  • Wakiso Giants 4-1 Gaddafi

Moses Aliro scored twice and assisted as many as Wakiso Giants swept away league debutants Gaddafi FC 4-1 at Wakissha.

Shariph Kimbowa and debutant Sam Ssenyonjo scored Wakiso Giants’ other goals while Alex Kitaata pulled one back for the visitors.

The hosts were dominant especially in the first half and their early pressure paid off in the 13th minute when Aliro made no mistake from close range after goalie Ronald Mutebi parried a ferocious long range effort from Kimbowa into his path.

The score line was doubled ten minutes later with Aliro tapping home a Simon Namwanja cutback from the left flank.

Four minutes to the break, Kimbowa scored with the easiest of chances after getting at the end of Aliro ball from the near post.

Rahmat Ssenfuka and Frank Ssebuufu could have extended the hosts’ lead but were denied by Mutebi.

Seven minutes after the interval, a different Gaddafi showed up and fully deserved a goal with Kitaata beating the offside flag to slot home after Samson Kiirya failed to tame an effort from Sibira.

The half time change that saw Otim come on for Sam Kintu seemed to pay off as he constantly threatened down the right but any hope of a comeback was extinguished in the 82nd minute.

Substitute Ssenyonjo poked home after control Aliro pass with his right and shot with his left to the bottom right corner for the Purple Sharks’ fourth.

The win lifts the Purple Sharks to 6th on the log with 27 points while Gaddafi remains 9th with 21 points.

Wakiso Giants’ next game will be a trip to BUL on Saturday February 12 while Gaddafi will visit URA three days later.

Elsewhere, Police lost 2-0 to Arua Hill at Barifa.
