FT: Impis 13-29 Heathens

Even though Impis had several moments of brilliance, Heathens were just good enough to walk away victors on Saturday at Makerere Rugby Grounds.

The first half was quite tougher for Impis as compared to the second. The hosts conceded 19 points courtesy of Scott Oluoch and Joaquim Chisano’s powerful drives past the white chalk.

Earlier before those well converted tries by Joseph Oyet, Steven Kalema had been at the receiving end of fine passes from the middle to the wing for the opening try in the corner.

Pius Mpoza – also Man of the Match of the day gave Impis a chance in this tie immediately after the side conceded their first try.

He grounded the ball in style after sprinting well to receive about a few metres from the whitewash. Henry Nsekuye didn’t disappoint from the tee as well.

Second half had Heathens pounce early on with two quick tries again from Scott and Kato Reynolds however, Henry’s accuracy off the tee helped Impis gain as much from two penalties later on.

Victory meant Heathens remain unbeaten after 7 games just like rivals Pirates, the difference coming down to only one point between the pair at the top of the log.

Impis are second from bottom with 6 points from 7 games after Warriors. Impis have drawn once and lost 5 games. They are yet to win any game.
