Uganda Pentecostal University (UPU) Football Club is a third division entity based in the tourism city of Fort Portal, Western Uganda.
UPU features in the Kitara Regional League (Edward Group) that comprises of clubs in the Kabarole, Kasese, Bunyangabo, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko and Kyenjojo districts.
This club was established in April 2019 after a take over from Pepsi, then a franchise in Bwera, Kasese district.
For the first season, the club maintained the name tag as Pepsi as a requirement by Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
In June 2020, FUFA granted the club a change of name, as it was renamed Uganda Pentecostal University Football Club.

Christened as the “Preachers”, this club is operated under the office of the Dean of Sports for the university.
It is run by a committee that is comprised of both internal and external members, who have been charged with making the decisions that have enabled the smooth running of the team with a target of qualifying for the second and first divisions of football in the country.
To be the team that promotes talents with brains, and provides the required infrastructure and opportunities to our talented students and community members to thrive in both academics and sports.

Objectives
Among the objectives for the founding of this club entailed advertising the University in the whole region and Uganda as well.
Also, the university has a target of producing educated sportsmen and women who will bring about change in society, encouraging the skills development among students, provision of opportunities for individuals to fulfil their potential through football and the desire to realize the aspect of community outreach which is a fundamental factor in cementing good relations between the university and communities in the Rwenzori region.



Leadership
In a bid to ensure affluent and sound leadership, Uganda Pentecostal University Football Club has put in place respectable leadership structures.
Prof. John Ntambirweki is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Joshua Mugyenyi is the club chairman with Richard Businge as the vice chairman.
Hon. Samuel Magezi Akandwanaho is the club patron.
The secretary is Lincoln Kanyesigye, Tom Kaswarra (Public Relations Officer), Captain Innocent Kasimbazi (security officer), Bob Mugume (marketing officer), Brian Nandala (treasurer).
Others are; Aglive Taybewa (team administrator), Charles Agenonga (team manager), Bashir Twesigye (financial advisor), Eric Habu Ndombi (legal officer), Bashir Mwanguhya (club ambassador), Tom Kaswara (head of communication department), Brian Ssemwogerere (social media officer) and Joshua Ahabyona Bacwa Abwooli (Josh Falcon Bacwa Abwooli) as the media officer.
There are three members; Benon Bamwesigye, Cleanous Ayebare and Scovia Kyogabirwe.

Rodgers Rwebuga and Ezra Mujasi are head and deputy coaches respectively.
Rwebuga formerly played for Kitara Football Club and Mujasi featured for Nyamityobora.
The team captain is Napoleon Kisembo.
Meanwhile, the club recently beefed up their squad with several signings to include; Tonny Musinguzi, Fauzi Aliganyira, Albert Atuhaire, Norman Namanya and Julius Tuju.
Musinguzi and Aliganyira were signed from Nyamityobora, Namanya (Kigezi Home Boyz), Tuju (unattached) and Atuhaire was unattached.

Aspirations
The club yearns to play the best football in a bid to make the play offs of the FUFA Big League, and later make it to the Big league (Division 2), provide a platform to talented students to be spotted by big teams and agents so that they may get a chance of furthering their careers, inspire excellence among the students for their love for football alongside balancing with education and spread the name of the institution (UPU) to far away places through the great team performances and results.



They are currently third on the log standings with 13 points.
