Netball Superleague defending champions Loughborough Lightning proved too strong for Surrey Storm on Monday night winning the contest 72-56.
However, it was a show of Ugandan prowess in either shooting circle as She Cranes captain Peace Proscovia and Mary Cholhok were in a mini-battle at opposite ends.
Lightning were quick out of the blocks, scoring four goals to the home side’s one within a few minutes. Fran Williams and Alice Harvey denied entry passes into the circle to Proscovia as Lightning took the opening quarter 24-11.
Storm fought back in the second quarter but still trailed by ten goals at the halftime break.
Loughborough edged the third quarter 14-13 and capped the game with a 19-14 win in the final period.
Proscovia was perfect with her shot, scoring on all her 49 shots and at the other end, Cholholk missed 5 of 57.
Lightning return to action on Friday, March 25 to face Strathclyde Sirens.
