All Africa Pool Association (AAPA) Championships

All is set for 2022 All Africa Pool Association (AAPA) Championships in the Zambian capital Lusaka.

Ten countries have already confirmed to take part in the championship that will be held in March.

Team Uganda has already named the men and ladies’ teams amid tight competition from the players, both teams are coached by Nathan Bwankosya.

The male team has players as Mansoor Bwanika, Ibra Ssejjemba, Habib Ssebuguzi, Caesar Chandiga, Azali Lukomwa, Ibrahim Kayanja, Joseph Kasozi, Glorious Ssenyonjo, Simon Lubuulwa, Geofrey Ssetumba, Yudah Sembusi and Ivan Murungi.

Ssebuguzi is the team captain.

Ladies

Left-handed shooter Ritah Nimusiima has the experience alongside Victoria Namuyanja.

Other female players on the team are; Rashida Mutesi, Rukia Naiga, Zaimati Nabafu, Amina Faith Nganda, and Immaculate Ayebazibwe.

Hosts Zambia will be joined by South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Tanzania, Botswana, Morocco, and West Africans Liberia.

Team Uganda has of late been engaged in fundraising drives with community service meant to raise money to assist in the smooth preparations.

Pool Association Uganda (PAU) general secretary Paul Wasike confirms to Kawowo Sports that the preparations are so far so good with a loud call to well-wishers to help the team prepare well.

We have had training sessions and warm up games. Perhaps, we urge well-wishers to come on board and support in the smooth preparations.

The National Council of Sports (NCS) is expected to announce its support towards the team soon.

The tournament cues off on 3rd March and will climax by 6th March 2022.
